Overcoming Barriers to EU Sales: Growing Your EU Revenues
Thursday, October 23rd at 12:00 pm – noon Atlantic Time (12:30 pm in NL)
The session will focus on regulatory requirements when selling into the UK and the EU. There are various processes required to sell into these markets and Craft Alliance is creating a support network to assist producers with market entry. We are working with a trade consultant in the UK and we will be offering assistance for those interested in doing upcoming trade shows in the UK and EU.
The workshop is free of charge, so if you are online already with platforms like FAIRE.com and others, this is a great workshop that will explain the issues and prepare you for trade shows in the UK and EU, or just provide you with tools needed to access these profitable markets.

About the Seminar:
It can seem at the moment that the international trading landscape has never been more volatile, fast moving, and difficult to navigate; trade wars, increased costs, sustainability pressures, regulatory changes, it never seems to end. However, there is significant demand globally for Canadian goods, including across the European Union. According to the European Crafts Alliance, the craft sector is valued at some €50 billion across the EU 27 member states, not to mention Northern Ireland and the three EEA markets (Norway, Iceland, and Lichenstein) that as Single Market members must align with EU product regulation. With such market potential, it is understandably a desirable export territory for Canadian craft companies, but with such stringent safety and sustainability regulation, a complex VAT system, and lengthy Free Trade Agreement, it can feel a little overwhelming even for the most longstanding Canadian exporter.
Join us for this “how to” 60-min webinar where we will explain exactly what is required
- from you as an exporter to: comply with all applicable regulation e.g. EU GPSR, EPR, etc.
- deal with VAT correctly across all Member States
- trade compliantly under the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)
- reducing the landed cost of your goods and making your export pricing more competitive
The presentation will take approx. 45 mins and a 15mins Q&A.
