Craft East Buyers’ Expo 2022

We are proud to announce the return of the Craft East Buyers’ Expo event for February 2022 . The feedback we received from our exhibitor and retailer audiences over the past year was that holding an in-person trade event for the craft and gift industry would be an essential element in helping to re-establish wholesale buying/selling relationships. We are currently preparing to present this event with the likelihood of COVID-19 restrictions still being enforced. Craft East Buyers’ Expo is a vehicle for the purpose of promoting crafts and giftware manufactured exclusively in the Atlantic Provinces. For two days in February the finest in candles, clothing, food, glass, home decor, jewellery, leather, metal, native, paintings, paper, pottery, stone, wood and much more will be gathered at the Homewood Suites/Conference Centre in beautiful downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

PLEASE NOTE: An initial deposit of $200. + HST/GST (15%) is required at the time of application. Registration deadline is October 22, 2021. Interested parties must inquire with the Craft East office about space availability after the deadline has passed. The balance of participation fees are due in full on December 3rd.


– Contact Craft East Office to Ensure Eligibility (new exhibitors only) – jurying is required for new applicants

– Create a Producer Account or login to your online profile

– Complete your Producer profile.

– Select “Projects” from the menu bar, click on Craft East Expo and complete the additional information required for the Expo

– You can pay the initial deposit of $200, or the amount in full.

– If you choose to pay the initial deposit of $200, the balance will be due by December 3rd. An invoice will be sent to you prior to November 26th as a reminder

– All exhibitors must complete and sign an Exhibitor Contract, to be sent upon registration confirmation.

ALL Craft East Buyers’ Expo participants receive one (1) full year placement in the Craft East Virtual Marketplace with registration.

Please note conference centre spaces are very limited and alternate sizes are only available by request; we will do our best to accommodate your needs with the space we have available. Inquire early for alternate space requests.

Craft East Virtual Marketplace: Each deposit payment for Craft East Buyers’ Expo additionally includes exhibitor presence on the Craft East Virtual Marketplace for the duration of 2022. Learn more about the Virtual Marketplace.

COVID-19 Special Notes & Exhibitor Information

To ensure the health and safety of all participants and visitors to the event, things will look and feel different this year. Here are some things to note with relation to our COVID-19 safety plan. These measures have been approved by the Nova Scotia Health Authority as essential elements to the safe operation of this event.

Scheduled Move-in: To avoid high volumes of traffic in the hotel and conference centre for move-in, we will anticipate having a schedule that staggers move-in time for exhibitors. Halifax-based exhibitors will be asked to move-in on Thursday evening, between 5pm-9pm. Exhibitors traveling from out of town can move-in on Friday will be emailed a link to book a move-in time.

COVID-19 Screening: Exhibitors will complete an online COVID screening declaration within 48 hours prior to the event. Screening questions will be asked again upon arrival. Each exhibitor is asked to designate a non-contact (outside the family bubble) backup booth attendant, in the event of unexpected illness or cold/flu symptoms preventing them from attending.

Exhibitors are asked to have only 1 person in their booth during open hours to reduce numbers and allow for better social distancing.

Masks will be worn at all times in the conference centre; Suite Exhibitors may remove their masks when not meeting with buyers.

Please note: Limited conference centre booths available. Event regulations may require booths at conferences to be spaced at least 6-feet from each other, meaning our number of available booths in the conference center could be reduced significantly from previous years. We encourage you to either book early, or consider the Exhibitor Suite options available for the most comfortable exhibiting experience.

Participation cost includes: 

Suite Exhibits: Use of suite for exhibit, display tables available upon advance request for a fee. Room includes kitchenette and living room, size depends on room configuration. Complimentary Hot Buffet Breakfast; Complimentary Wi-fi; Housekeeping each morning before expo opens; Use of hotel facilities (pool, fitness centre); and parking at an additional cost, if required. Due to timing and schedule for the expo, a 3 night hotel minimum is required, paid in advance to Craft Alliance. There are no refunds for late arrivals or early departures from the hotel. Conference Room Exhibits: exhibit space in the Conference Centre, white pipe & drape, one draped table & chair, wi-fi, electrical service is included. Details on table sizes will be sent at a later date (standard table size is 6’x2′ but subject to change).

All exhibitors are additionally granted access to the Craft East Exhibitors’ Lounge on Level 2 of Homewood Suites, where we will offer a space to take a breath and enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments throughout the weekend.
