Craft Alliance Atlantic is currently accepting Expressions of Interest from contemporary craft artists living and working in Atlantic Canada, to participate in a gallery exhibition at the Collect Art Fair in early 2026.  Submissions will be received by the deadline noted above, by the Google Docs form linked at the bottom of this release.

Craft Alliance will coordinate a small group of contemporary craft artists, to exhibit work at the 22nd Annual Collect Art Fair in London from February 27 – March 1, 2026, at Somerset House in London, UK.

The exhibition will focus on those contemporary craftspeople who are experienced in gallery exhibition and who are actively seeking gallery representation or opportunities Internationally, both emerging and established artists are invited to apply. Craft Alliance will be working with the provincial crafts councils and our industry partners in Atlantic Canada to identify participants for the program.

 

GUIDELINES:

What are we looking for?

Collect presents high-quality craft and design by established contemporary artists and new talent that is recognized as having the potential to be significant new voices. Craft Alliance through this curated process is looking for new and progressive contemporary fine craft works that fit the themed proposed by the curator.

The work selection will be based on Collect criteria’s of:

  • Artistic expression and intellectual content
  • Individuality and originality of ideas and development
  • Excellence in making, process and skill
  • Uniqueness/ rarity (understood as works which are produced as a one of a kind)
  • The narrative/ influences of an individual’s work.
  • Works can be based on a contemporary interpretation of a traditional craft as well as those that are operating at the cutting-edge of material experimentation and/or combination of materials.
  • Artists’ work is expected to be categorized within one of the terminologies listed on the “Discipline” question below. Artists using any digital technologies within their work are expected to demonstrate that hand skill and craft knowledge is the lead component in both the concept and finished object.
