IMPORTANT NOTE:  Craft Alliance Atlantic does not send mail via postal services to our Exhibitors,

so please be vigilant, as there are SCAM everywhere!

Craft Alliance has been made aware that a new version of the scam letters described below is once again circulating.   The most recent letter s and mailing have been from South America with mailing addresses in Germany and/or other countries.  We remind you to be vigilant and carefully read any communications claiming to be sent on behalf of Craft Alliance Atlantic or Craft East Buyers’ Expo; in particular, any communications identifying ACTS or ATLANTIC CRAFT TRADE SHOW as the event of note, as we no longer operate our trade show under this name. You should also be skeptical of any letters addressed to you which list an international return address, request payment in a foreign currency, and do not contain signatures from any of our Craft East or Craft Alliance staff.

Craft Alliance/Craft East Buyers’ Expo has been made aware of several scams over the years targeting our exhibitors, along with others who have participated in trade shows in Canada, the USA, Europe and other countries. Apparently offering advertising space on their websites (such as International Fairs Directory or FairGuide.com), the companies use a form which resembles an organizer’s free catalogue listing service, inviting exhibitors to sign and return the form for an entry in an on-line directory. Exhibitors who sign and return the form are contracted into a non-retractable agreement at significant cost for a period of at least three years and continuing annually thereafter at the same cost, unless cancelled by registered letter within the appropriate period.

Craft East Buyers’ Expo has no affiliation with any external trade show companies, nor have we authorized them to use our name or trademarks on information they send out to exhibitors. We urge all exhibitors to exercise caution in where/when they provide personal or business information, and to carefully read all correspondences claiming to stem from the Craft East Buyers’ Expo, Craft Alliance, and particularly the Atlantic Craft Trade Show (often labeled as ACTS Management), as the latter brand name is no longer in use.

Please Note also that the majority of our Contacting, Registrations and Invoicing is occurring digitally through our dedicated portal and it is extremely unlikely we would ever mail a request for payment for a web listing or advertising, or to update your contact information.  Our main communications are now done via MailChimp and our newsletters.

If you receive a document which uses our name or the name of our events and which offers advertising space on one of these websites, please do not sign the form unless you have carefully read and understood the terms contained in the small print. If you have any concerns about the distribution of such documents and contracts by companies such as Fair Guide, Expo-Guide, Event Fair, International Fairs Directory, Construct Data Verlag AG, Mulpor Company S.A., or any other trade directory companies, you should contact the relevant authorities in your location. In Canada, the federal Competition Bureau is responsible for deceptive and misleading advertising scams.

If you have been deceived by these types of mailings, we would like to hear from you. Please contact Craft Alliance for information on how to deal with these unwanted solicitations.
