FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Craft Alliance is pleased to announce that we will be participating in the upcoming Collect Art Fair UK to be presented in London, UK from February 28 – March 3, 2024.
“This is an incredible opportunity to present contemporary fine craft makers from Atlantic Canada at this prestigious International art fair for contemporary craft and design,” said Bernard Burton, Executive Director of Craft Alliance Atlantic.
Collect: the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design is presented by Craft Council UK and is considered the premier exhibition of contemporary craft globally and attracts a broad audience and collectors from around the world.
Craft Alliance will present 18 contemporary makers from across Atlantic Canada. The exhibition selection was determined through an initial call for entry in spring 2023, at which point a jury selected makers and works to be presented to Collect for their jury consideration. As a result of the Collect jury, a final exhibition group was selected and will be presented at Collect in 2024.
Contemporary craft makers selected for Collect include; from New Brunswick – Brigitte Clavette, Anna Torma, Shane Perley-Dutcher, Judy Blake, Darren Emeneau, and Gordon Sparks. From Nova Scotia – Kye-Yeon Son, Sorrel Van Allen, Jessie Fraser, Heather Pitts, Nancy Oakley, Pam Ritchie, Mengnan Qu, and Rebecca Hannon. From Prince Edward Island – Rilla Marshall and Isako Suzuki. From Newfoundland & Labrador – Wesley Harris and Shawn O’Hagan.
The project is supported by the Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador and the Sheila Hugh MacKay Foundation.
Craft Alliance Atlantic is a pan-Atlantic trade association working with the craft industry in Atlantic Canada to develop new market opportunities and exporting for the sector. Images and artist information available upon request.
