SOFA Chicago Educational Mission - Navy Pier, Chicago, IL

Chicago, Illinois: November 3-7, 2016
Craft Alliance will lead an Educational Mission to SOFA Chicago, November 3-7, 2016.  This market intelligence and educational trade mission will be a pan-Atlantic mission with participation from the four Atlantic Provinces. Craft Alliance will coordinate a small group of export ready contemporary fine craftspeople to attend the 23rd annual SOFA Chicago at Navy Pier, Chicago, IL. We will focus on those contemporary craftspeople who are experienced in gallery exhibition and who are actively seeking gallery representation. The educational mission will include a full day workshop at SOFA featuring guest speakers experienced in the contemporary craft market, a tour of the SOFA exposition and gallery tour of Chicago. Participants will also be able to take part in the SOFA lecture series and other SOFA related activities presented during the SOFA event. NY NOW Trade Show - Javits Convention Center, New York, NY

New York, NY: August 20-24, 2016
To further develop export markets for Atlantic Canadian craft producers, Craft Alliance will lead a trade mission project to New York, NY to attend the NY Now Trade Show in August 2016. This will be a pan-Atlantic mission where Craft Alliance will lead the coordination and development of the project. The project will involve recruiting export ready, craft producers from Atlantic Canada looking to expand their sales to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the USA. gallery@acts - Exhibition, Conference and Showcase

Halifax, Nova Scotia: February 6-8, 2016
The gallery@acts was launched in 2011 and is now in its 6th year. The project involves the development of a gallery space at the ACTS show, which features the work of contemporary craft makers in a gallery exhibition atmosphere. The project has been developed in partnership with our craft industry partners. Over the past 5 years we have featured the work of 78 makers, showing over 200 pieces of work. We have also presented 27 Internationally known galleries from Canada and the United States. The work shown was very high-end contemporary work of interest to both private and public galleries, museums and collectors' groups. Craft Alliance will lead an Educational Mission to the Surtex Art Licensing Trade Show to be held in New York, NY May 16-20, 2015. This market intelligence and educational trade mission will be a pan-Atlantic mission with participation from the four Atlantic Provinces. Craft Alliance will coordinate a small group of export ready artists and designers to attend the 29th annual Surtex Art Licensing trade show at the Javits Convention Center, New York, NY. We will focus on those artisans and designers who show potential and interest in working in the area of art licensing. The educational mission will include participation in the trade show conference program while at Surtex, a tour of the Surtex show along with networking and meeting opportunities. Celtic Marketplace Trade Show - Embassy Suites Hotel

Lombard, Illinois: September 22-24, 2013
Craft Alliance will lead a trade show mission to the Celtic Marketplace held in Lombard, IL (20 minutes outside Chicago). The Celtic show is produced by the North American Celtic Trade Association and features product specific to Celtic design from around the world. The NACTA Show presents exhibitors from the United States, Canada, Scotland and Ireland. Buyers are predominantly from the USA and Canada. The organizers have programs in place that link the US market to Ireland. The participating Atlantic Canadian companies would benefit from potential access to the Ireland and Scotland markets from participation in this event. The show features mostly gift products for the Celtic trade, along with higher-end craft products. Craft Alliance will coordinate a small group of export ready artists and designers to attend the 27th annual Surtex Art Licensing trade show at the Javits Convention Center, New York, NY. We will focus on those artisans and designers who show potential and interest in working in the area of art licensing. TNNA Needle Arts Trade Show - Greater Columbus Convention Centre

Columbus, Ohio: June 22-25, 2012
To further develop export markets for Atlantic Canadian craft producers, Craft Alliance is initiating a trade mission project to Columbus, OH to attend The National Needle Arts Association (TNNA) - TNNA Summer 2012 Needle Arts Trade Show in June 2012. Craft Alliance will coordinate a small group of craft producers to attend the quarterly trade show for the needlecraft industry. TNNA is a professional industry association of producers and retailers in the needle arts.

ACRE Las Vegas Trade Show - Las Vegas Convention Centre

To further develop export markets for Atlantic Canadian craft producers, Craft Alliance will lead a trade mission project to Las Vegas to attend the ACRE Las Vegas Trade Show in June 2012. This will be a pan-Atlantic mission where Craft Alliance will lead the coordination and development of the project. The project will involve recruiting export ready, craft producers from Atlantic Canada looking to expand their sales to the western and southwest regions of the USA. A new pilot project launched at ACTS 2011. The project involved the development of a gallery space at the ACTS show, which featured the work of contemporary craft makers in a gallery exhibition atmosphere. The project was developed in partnership with our craft industry partners. The 2011 exhibition featured the work of 18 makers, showing 32 pieces of work. The work shown was very high-end contemporary work of interest to both private and public galleries, museums and collectors' groups.

gallery@acts for February 2012 will include an exhibition space, workshops and a specific gallery incoming buyer program as well as showcase opportunities for participating craftspeople.
